Who runs this site
AI Tools for Authors is run by David Sluder, an individual based in Indiana, under the name Sablequay Digital. You can reach us at sablequay_digital@yahoo.com.
What we collect
We do not ask you for personal information, and this site has no accounts, forms, comments, or checkout.
Our hosting provider, Vercel, automatically records basic technical data when you load a page, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the time. We use this only to keep the site running and secure. Vercel processes it under its own privacy policy.
Cookies and analytics
We do not use advertising trackers or tracking cookies. The only analytics tool we use is Vercel Web Analytics, described below. If we add any other tool, we will update this policy before turning it on and name the tool here.
Vercel Web Analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views and understand how the site is used in aggregate. For each page view it may record: the time of the visit, the page address (URL and route), the referring site, filtered query parameters (for example ?ref=), approximate location (country, region, and city), device type (mobile, desktop, or tablet), operating system and version, browser and version, and the analytics script version.
It does not use cookies. Instead, Vercel identifies visits with a hashed value created from the incoming request. That value resets every day and is designed so that visits are not linked across different days or tracked across different websites (per Vercel's documentation). Visitor session data is discarded after 24 hours. We do not use custom events and we do not use Vercel Speed Insights.
Because the tool is cookieless and stores nothing on your device, we do not show a cookie banner.
Vercel processes this data as our service provider. Where EU or UK law applies, our legal basis is our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used so we can improve it.
Retention: on our current Vercel plan, analytics reports are available to us for one month. Vercel may keep the underlying aggregated data longer under its own retention practices (Vercel's documentation notes it may store data beyond the reporting window).
Newsletter
We are not collecting email addresses yet. Before we do, we will update this policy to name the email provider, explain what we send, how long we keep your address, and how to unsubscribe. Signup will always be opt-in.
Sponsors and affiliate links
We do not use affiliate links. If we add sponsored listings, they will be labelled "Sponsored," and we will not share personal information with sponsors. At most we may share total click counts, which do not identify anyone.
Links to other sites
Listings link to each tool's official website. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we do not control.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK, or Canada), you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to withdraw consent. Where EU or UK law applies, our legal basis for the hosting logs is our legitimate interest in running and securing the site. You may also complain to your local data protection authority. Email us and we will respond within 30 days. Because we collect so little, in most cases the answer will be that we hold nothing beyond our host's standard logs.
Retention and security
We keep only what is described above, for no longer than needed for the purposes described. Hosting logs are kept according to Vercel's retention settings. We use reasonable measures to protect the site, but no website is perfectly secure.
Service providers
Vercel (website hosting and Web Analytics). If we add an email provider, we will list it here first.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new effective date.
